SP-CRD is becoming a very popular replacement for steam traps on vacuum return for two reasons:
- SP-CRD cannot fail “open” like conventional steam traps usually do. This failure results many times in the introduction of an excessive amount of live steam into the vacuum return. This live steam will result in vacuum loss and sometimes in pump failure. By eliminating the excessive live steam losses inherent in conventional steam traps, SP-CRD helps to maintain consistent condensate return temperatures and a level vacuum.
